Pasta with Turkey Ham

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) package pasta (your favorite shape)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 4 cups chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 pound turkey ham
  • 2 1/2 cups LACTAID® Reduced Fat Milk
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped basil
  • 1 teaspoon crushed oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Cook pasta following package directions. Drain and set aside.

  2. Heat oil over medium heat in a large frying pan. Add onion and garlic. Cook over medium heat 2 to 3 minutes. Add tomatoes and ham. Cook 3 to 4 minutes, just until tomatoes are warm. Add LACTAID® Reduced Fat Milk and pasta.

  3. Simmer over medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes or until the LACTAID® Reduced Fat Milk has reduced and started to thicken. Add herbs and simmer 3 to 4 minutes for flavors to blend.

  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
